General description:

This tool is used in conjunction with a Fill Up and Circulating tool (Autoseal) of both the OD seal and ID seal style tools. The purpose of the Valve is to hold the fluid contained in the drilling system, tool, and fill up hose following pumping through the tool. If the valve were not used, then the drilling fluid would drain through the fill up tool, wetting the crew, floor and rig. This would result in an unsafe condition for the personnel and could have environmental consequences.

FEATURES and ADVANTAGES:

1. When activated by placing into the casing, the valve is FULLY OPEN with out any restrictions. There is no back pressure during pumping. Pump rates as high as 24 BPM can be handled by the large valve assembly.
2. Because the valve remains fully open when in the casing, the valve can also be used to flow from the casing and through the rig’s Kelly hose, reverse flow.
3. One assembly of the Standoff Ring and the Opening Arm is used with a WIDE RANGE of casing sizes. See below chart.
4. The Valve Packing can be easily change on the rig WITHOUT disconnecting  the valve assembly from the rig hookup.
5. Valve contains a PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE. Should the pumps be accidentally turned on when the valve is closed, the pressure relief valve will open at a pre set pressure to expel the pump pressure.
6. Full exposure of the fluid ports and packing by simply lifting up the Arm. If trash gets into the valve, the Arm is lifted up, the trash removed, and operations continue.

A. 20 – 9 5/8 FO AUTO FILL VALVE ASSEMBLY:   
  Dress Kit A: Cover all casing sizes from 20 inch through 16 inch.
  Dress Kit B. Cover all casing sizes from 14 inch through 9 5/8 inch.

B. 8 5/8 – 7 FO AUTO FILL VALVE ASSEMBLY:  
  Dress Kit A: Cover all casing sizes from 8 5/8 inch through 7 inch

C. 6 5/8 - 5 ½ FO AUTO FILL VALVE ASSEMBLY:  
  Dress Kit A: Cover all casing sizes from 6 5/8 inch- 5 ½ inch.
